REAL MADRID declines the transfer loan of it midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to Arsenal in the ongoing January transfer window.

The Gunners have been very active in the market of lately, having signed Leandro Trossard while also pushing for the captures of Jakub Kiwior and Ivan Fresneda. And Camavinga too has emerged as a possible target for Mikel Arteta’s Premier League leaders. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have no intention whatsoever to let Camavinga leave the club this month. The Italian journalist adds that Los Blancos intend to continue with the same squad at least until the end of the season. He further adds that the club retain total faith in Camavinga and see him as an important player for the present and the future.

This coincides with claims from COPE, which state that the reigning Spanish and European champions see the 20-year-old youngster as ‘untouchable’ and have no desire to let him leave the club midway through the season, even if it would be only on a loan deal.

Real Madrid signed Camavinga in the summer of 2021 from Rennes but manager Carlo Ancelotti was very measured and cautious in his usage of the youngster in his debut season. But, the young Frenchman made some valuable contributions towards the end of the 2021/22 campaign, helping Real Madrid win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

Camavinga, however, has seen his game-time continue to be restricted this season as well. Even when he has started, Ancelotti has been quick to take the 20-year-old off. The Italian tactician has subbed the midfielder off at half-time on as many as seven occasions already. With Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde ahead of him in the pecking order, Arsenal are looking to capitalize on his situation by taking him on loan. The report from COPE clarifies that Real Madrid do not intend to let Camavinga leave, while also stating that they have not received any request from Arsenal for the 20-year-old either.

So, there will be no exit for the Frenchman this month as Real Madrid look to successfully defend their domestic and European titles.
